With the new year underway, we want to express our heartfelt thanks for your kindness and support of Omega Phi Alpha Foundation. Our community is thriving, and we’re excited to announce our Spring 2025 grant recipients. These outstanding individuals and chapters will be driving positive change in their communities, and we can’t wait to share their stories with you!
Congratulations to Our Spring 2025 Grant Recipients!
We’re eager to congratulate the following chapters on their well-deserved grant awards:
Chi Chapter (University of South Carolina)
Chi Chapter will support The Period Project, providing essential wellness items and period products to people who menstruate. Chi Chapter President, Sofi Burnette, shared how this grant will help their chapter with a service project and initiative they “care about immensely!”
Epsilon Chapter (Tennessee Tech University)
Epsilon Chapter is dedicated to making a positive impact in their community by supporting people experiencing homelessness. With this grant funding, they will purchase food items in bulk and assemble approximately 100 care packages to distribute through their local organizations, helping to bring more hope and support to those experiencing homelessness.
Alpha Chi Chapter (Marshall University)
Alpha Chi Chapter is empowering their new executive board to reach new heights through a dynamic leadership and teamwork development experience. As they celebrate milestones like their first Founders’ Day and largest new member class, President Emma Hurley emphasizes the importance of strong bonds and leadership skills: “As we welcome in a mostly new executive board… creating strong bonds and enhancing leadership skills is essential to the continued success of our chapter.” With an escape room activity, they’ll foster collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving, propelling their chapter forward and amplifying their positive impact.
Alpha Gamma Chapter (Oklahoma State University)
Alpha Gamma Chapter’s “Packs for Kids” service project is a heartfelt effort to provide essential supplies to 20 foster care children through the local Department of Human Services (DHS). Each child will receive a sturdy backpack or duffle bag filled with practical and comfort items, including hygiene products, basic clothing, school supplies, and a small comfort item. By showing these children they are seen, heard, and valued, they aim to bring hope, dignity, and joy to their lives during a vulnerable time.
Delta Chapter (Texas A&M University)
Dehydration can have severe consequences, including hospitalization and even death. Recognizing the importance of hydration, Delta Chapter is taking proactive steps to promote student well-being near their campus. Their “Waters on Northgate” project is a thoughtful initiative to promote hydration and well-being among Texas A&M University students. By handing out water bottles and electrolyte packets to bar-goers, Delta Chapter aims to make a positive impact on their community. Building on the success of their previous event, which distributed 400 waters, they’re seeking to double their outreach by distributing 800 water bottles and electrolyte packets, fostering a safer and healthier environment for students.
