Omega Phi Alpha is headed to South Carolina! Join your sisters in Greenville July 11-14 for our biennial convention. As always, connect with members new and old, serve the local community and have FUN!
The theme of Convention 2024 is “Helping Hands for Life: Sustaining friendship, leadership & service” and much of our programming and activities will be focused on how Omega Phi Alpha can live on forever in hearts and souls.

The best way to understand Convention is to experience it! Reconnect with friends, meet new people, and help guide the next generation of OPhiA! Convention has evolved through the years, and we’re excited for you to experience firsthand a few of those updates:
- Convention 2024 has been condensed to 4 days instead of 5 days to help reduce hotel costs based on your feedback
- Business sessions have been condensed to a few hours vs a full day
- Sisterhood free-time has been maximized to give us all more time to connect in friendship and explore the host city
- Saturday only registration is available and includes a service project, ceremonies and traditions, and awards presentations capping off the evening at our Gala – bring your dancing shoes!
- Chapters who’ve reached milestones (10-, 20-, 25-, and 30-year anniversaries!) will be recognized at our Gala on Saturday
Volunteer at Convention 2024 to save on registration!
We expect over 150 sorority sisters from across the country to attend and we need volunteers to help make the event a success. As an Omega Phi Alpha alum, you understand how important service and sisterhood are to our organization. We would love for you to be a part of this event by volunteering your time and talent!
Volunteer opportunities include staffing the registration desk, guiding attendees, assisting with technology during business meetings, assisting with set up and tear down, and more. We welcome any amount of time you can give, whether it’s one shift or across the entire event.
Boost your resume by speaking at OPhiA Convention 2024!
At Convention 2022, the workshops led by our own members were a huge hit for those in attendance and great opportunity for those who led the workshops to showcase their expertise! We are looking for proposals for 45 – 60 minute workshops for our Convention in 2024 which will take place in Greenville, SC on July 11 – 14, 2024.
We are seeking dynamic, engaging workshop leaders to share their expertise with our attendees on topics relevant to the convention theme “Helping Hands” and also other topics of interest to our members. Potential topics could include:
- Diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Stress reduction and coping mechanisms
- Leadership training
- Practical skills training
Workshops should be interactive and focused on teaching new skills, exploring new concepts, or discussing key issues. We welcome submissions from experienced workshop leaders as well as new voice with fresh perspectives.
Proposals should include:
- A brief workshop description with key learning outcomes (250 word max)
- Intended audience (active, alum, both)
- Brief bio of workshop leader(s)
Please submit workshop proposals via email to our Managing Director by December 1, 2023. Proposals will be reviewed by the planning committee and selected based on quality, relevance, and fit.
Notification of acceptance will be sent by January 30, 2024. The conference space will include basic AV equipment, but any special requests should be outlined in your proposal.
