One year after beginning the expansions process, Omicron Chapter regained active status as fourteen prospective new members at Auburn University became founding members on October 22nd, 2022. The induction ceremony was conducted by National President Brittany Thornton and Expansions Director Summer Ray, along with a few members of the national team and past Omicron alum.

Induction weekend was packed full of service and sisterhood activities to help celebrate the newly established chapter. It began on Friday night with alumni and prospective new members gathering at Jim N’ Nick’s BBQ, a favorite local restaurant. It was great for many of the members to meet the prospective new members in person for the first time!

On Saturday morning, several alumni joined prospective new members, Avery Bates and Ellie Droege, for a campus tour to learn some of the rich history around Auburn University. After the tour, everyone who was attending the evening events met up on campus for introductions and pictures.

Rooted in our core value of promoting a culture of service, the prospective new chapter led a campus clean up around a neighborhood close to campus. It was a wonderful opportunity for alumni and prospective new members to bond through serving others.

With all chapters, and especially new chapters, it’s important to foster a strong bond of friendship so after the service project, all alumni and prospective new members met at the HeyDay Market for lunch and bonding time.

A few members brought alumni to a popular place on campus, Toomer’s Corner, for their famous flavored lemonade and unique Auburn merchandise.

After lunch, attendees met up on campus for a sisterhood project to tie dye shirts.

On Saturday evening, prospective new members and alumni met on campus for the chapter induction ceremony during which Omicron chapter was reborn. The group was presented with various gifts from alumni and the national team to help start off their life as a new chapter. It was a fun evening of tacos catered by Taco Mama, a cake to celebrate, a photo booth, and their sisterhood chair Carrie Elaine Smith presenting superlative awards to the newly activated members of the chapter.

It was a lovely weekend steeped in celebration of the newly re-established Omicron Chapter and all of the founding members who worked so hard to make it happen!
