We are excited to launch our newest blog series all about our Operational Leadership Team! Over the next several weeks, we will be introducing you to vital members of our team who help keep the sorority running smoothly. Without dedicated members, we could not provide the necessary support to our chapters to ensure their success.

DID YOU KNOW…? Omega Phi Alpha was an entirely volunteer-led organization until 2008 when we added our National Office Administrator, Virginia Vesnaver. In 2020, we hired our first part-time contractor role of Executive Director. In 2021, we revamped the position based on the needs of the sorority and hired a Managing Director. Following that, we added two temporary contractor positions – Chapter Health Specialists.

What is a Chapter Health Specialist?

These contractors are each assigned to three endangered chapters and dedicate 20 hours a month to provide individualized support and training to our chapters that are struggling or experiencing significantly declining membership.

Stormy has been volunteering on the national team for a few years and has also served as President of her home chapter and facilitator of Omega Iota (Phoenix-area alumni chapter). The best part of volunteering for Stormy is the ability to meet sisters all over the country and seeing how every chapter is so different but united under the same goal and mission. As Chapter Health Specialist, one of the most rewarding things for Stormy is seeing chapters persevere through challenges. Outside of Omega Phi Alpha, Stormy is a Foreign Patent Paralegal and loves to visit the beach on her time off.

Taylor has been a member of the national team since graduating from the University of South Carolina. Prior to her current role as Chapter Health Specialist, she served as District Summit Parliamentarian and Chapter Success Coordinator. Taylor’s favorite thing about volunteering on the national team is being able to affect change in so many areas. She sees the impact that we have as a national organization and really enjoys working one on one with chapters. Outside of Omega Phi Alpha, Taylor is in graduate school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill working towards her Master’s degree in Public Health with a concentration in health equity, social justice, and human rights. It is her hope to tackle the health inequities that affect our healthcare system including poverty, the pink tax, and women’s reproductive health rights.
