Education is the foundation that equips us to act on our values. As lifelong learners, we strive to understand the challenges and needs around us and actively make a positive difference.

Each semester, we are thrilled to shine a spotlight on some of our members who are graduating from their respective colleges and universities. Congratulations to these 2022 grads.

Jocelyn Guerra (Alpha Delta)

Jocelyn is receiving a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Psychology from Georgia Southern University. After graduating, Jocelyn will be applying to graduate school to become either a nurse practitioner or a physician assistant. She one day hopes to work in an emergency room as a primary care practitioner. Jocelyn served as vice president of Alpha Delta Chapter and will miss sorority-wide events such as formal and retreats. Jocelyn truly thinks Omega Phi Alpha and its sisterhood helped to make her feel at home while at college and she will treasure the memories she has made forever.

Liz Lawhon (Alpha Rho)

Liz will be receiving a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. After graduation, Liz will be moving to Raleigh, North Carolina to work as a project engineer for a private engineering firm. When reflecting on her time in college and membership in O Phi A, Liz has said “OPA has been my family away from home since my freshman year. I’ll miss my sisters!”

Amanda Cornell (Delta)

Amanda is graduating from Texas A&M University with a degree in sports management and a minor in communications. Amanda is currently looking to work for a sports team and applying to jobs and graduate school programs. Amanda’s advice for members is “Get involved. Be a chair, join a committee, run for an officer position! You learn so much and make so many memories along the way. Also, invest in your OPA family! Crear a group chat and add to it as people get littles and your family grows! It’s so nice to have a group of people who always support you! My family’s group chat is always going off, and it’s so fun to see how everyone is doing all the way up to my gg-big down to my ggggg-little!”

Izabella Silver (Alpha Alpha)

Izabella is graduating from Northern University of Arizona with a degree in Criminology/ Criminal Justice and minors in Psychology and Social Science: Forensics. Once she graduates, Izabella plans on going to graduate school for Social Work where she hopes to one day become a therapist for people needing court order mental health treatment.
