GivingTuesday is a global day of giving and unity that will take place on December 1, 2020. In honor of this day, we’re encouraging our members, friends and families to come together and give back by making a monetary donation to the Omega Phi Alpha Foundation.
Omega Phi Alpha develops “Today’s Friends, Tomorrow’s Leaders, Forever in Service” by promoting service to the university community, to the community at large, to the members of the sorority, and to the nations of the world.
Service is at the core of who we are and why we exist, and this GivingTuesday, we ask that you serve in a new way – by supporting the Omega Phi Alpha Foundation through monetary donations.
Honor those who inspire you to serve – whether it be a fellow sister, a friend or family member – by contributing a donation in an amount that corresponds to the year you were officially inducted into the fellowship of Omega Phi Alpha. For example, if you joined in 1980 your donation would amount to $19.80, or if you joined in 2005 your donation would be $20.05.
With these funds, Omega Phi Alpha will be able to continue serving the university community, the community at large, the members of the sorority, and the nations of the world.
Your donations will support service projects like those listed below, and much more.
Outrace the Stigma – Chi Chapter
This 5K race is hosted by Chi Chapter to raise awareness around mental health. All proceeds go to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). In 2019, Chi Chapter hosted 500 runners and raised over $2,000 for NAMI.
The Pad Project – Omega Chapter
The Pad Project is run by Too Little Children. Omega Chapter made washable, reusable sanitary pads for girls and women in impoverished areas of Kenya. Too Little Children distributes the sanitary pads to girls and women who typically cannot afford or access them, and also educates girls on feminine hygiene, safe sex, associated risks, and self-respect.
Educational Learning Fair – Rho Chapter
Rho Chapter’s Educational Learning Fair was an interactive educational fair for a local elementary in Bowling Green, KY, and featured various fun activities that allowed young learners to explore their creativity in a structured, but fun setting. The students got to rotate between different tables and do different superhero-themed activities. They were able to write “super thank you” letters to their teachers, make their own comic strip, color superhero masks, and participate in a superhero training.
Omega Phi Alpha Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Your donation is eligible for tax credit consideration – EIN 83-4360835.
