Hi, sisters!

50th logoIt’s registration time for Convention 2017! The convention team has been planning this 50th anniversary milestone event for more than a year. We can’t wait to see MANY of you there. Check out the FAQs below for more information.

When and where is Convention 2017?

What is an active chapter voting delegate?

Each chapter in good standing gets two votes at the business meetings. Therefore, your chapter needs to select two members to represent your chapter officially at the convention as active voting delegates. If these sisters follow the travel procedures and attend at least 75 percent of the required meetings, they are eligible for a 50 percent travel reimbursement. These members need to be sure to select the active voting delegate registration type when they register.

It is a national requirement for chapters to send delegates to the convention. If you are having trouble finding sisters that can go contact the Convention Coordinator Penny Guiles at as soon as possible.

Can we do a group registration?

Yes. To complete a group registration, begin by registering one sister. Once you get to the Registration Summary page, you will have the option to “Add Person.” By clicking on this button, you can add another registrant. This is a great way to register and pay for all your delegates all at once.

Who do we contact with questions about Convention 2017 or registering?

Penny Guiles is OPA’s convention coordinator. She can be reached at She is also happy to help sisters find flights, especially if someone is flying for the first time.

Do we have to stay at the convention hotel?

Members attending do not have to stay at the convention hotel. However, it is HIGHLY recommended. Some of the best convention moments come from rooming with sisters from another chapter and staying up late to talk.

What if we don’t have enough money for the convention?

If your chapter is worried about having enough money for the convention, please contact our VP of Finance Pamela McEwen at as soon as possible. She can see if your chapter has any money in your chapter savings account and help your chapter decide what is possible financially.
