Omega Phi Alpha is an organization filled with remarkable individuals. During the college years, sisters dedicate themselves to the cardinal principles of friendship, leadership and service. OPA philanthropic spirit guides members to complete hour upon hour of service that benefits local communities and beyond.
But commitment to Omega Phi Alpha does not end at graduation. OPA lifetime members always strive to live in accordance with OPA’s cardinal principles and continue to contribute to as they go into the wider community.
Omega Phi Alpha would not be the thriving service organization it is today without leadership, vision and loyal support. Donors continue to build on the legacy left with chapters, universities and communities by providing the sorority with the financial support needed to continue on to even greater things.
OPA was granted 501(c)3 standing in 2015 (pending), so all donations to the sorority are tax-deductible.
Omega Phi Alpha has been developing service-minded leaders for nearly 50 years. Honor another sister by donating $5 to OPA. Just visit the Rose Shop. Please enter the name of the sister you are honoring in the notes section of your order.
In 50 years OPA has donated more than a million hours to making our communities stronger. Donate $50 for 50 years and put it toward OPA programming, expansion efforts and leadership development. Visit the Rose Shop to make your donation to OPA.
The Omega Phi Alpha Chevron Society supports the day-to-day operating expenses of the sorority. It provides much needed funding for things such as chapter services, membership records and operating funds for the national organization. Chapter training materials are developed and taught, and the national office ensures communication throughout the sorority. Chevron levels include:
Friendship Level: up to $75
Leadership Level: $76 to $199
Service Level: $200 to $499
Topaz Level : $500 to $999
Sapphire Level: $1,000 to $1,499
Diamond level: $1,500 and above
Members of the Chevron Society are acknowledged at Convention, published in the Chevron and receive tokens per level of giving.
Members who want to support Omega Phi Alpha through a financial gift can become a Friend of Ophia. This is a way for actives and alumnae to further support the sorority’s mission and vision, beyond their day-to-day contributions to their chapter, school and community. An annual gift of $5 is all it takes to become a Friend of Ophia.
Any sister who missed a year of giving will be able to catch up at any time. Sisters can take a break from giving while they establish careers or families, and when they are in a position to catch up, they can do just that. Just submit a payment for the catch-up amount, making sure that it is identified as a catch-up payment for the years covered.
Sisters are encouraged to be a Friend of Ophia every year. Actives and alumnae who make a yearly $5 donation will be recognized for their years of participation at national Convention and in the Chevron.
Omega Phi Alpha established the Legacy of the Rose to recognize the generosity of sisters who have made provisions in their wills or estate planning to benefit the sorority. These donors named Omega Phi Alpha National Service Sorority as the ultimate beneficiary of a planned gift. Such gifts might include a bequest, gifts of life insurance, and other deferred gifts. These options may provide a significant tax advantage as well. Legacy of the Rose members have expressed their commitment to OPA through a very special form of financial support.
Membership involves no dues, obligations or solicitations, but OPA appreciates and recognizes you for the plans you have made, and it may inspire generosity in others. Benefits of membership in the Legacy of the Rose include invitations to special events and a recognition at our national Convention.
Please complete the Charitable Bequest Intent Form to share the details of your bequest intentions for Omega Phi Alpha. In recognition of your disclosure, we will be honored to invite you to join the Legacy of the Rose, a select group of donors who have created a future gift intention for OPA.
